The Rock, Paper, Scissors game, with its pentagon of five picks

Rock, Paper, Scissors

Rock, Paper, Scissors needed its five-pick game to play out in one screen: pick, watch the house answer, take the verdict, go again. The hard part was choreographing that reveal without the layout moving under it.

Project Background

Rock, Paper, Scissors is the playground game with two picks added, Lizard and Spock, and the brief was a game rather than a page. They came with a navy field, five coin colours, a rules diagram covering all ten winning pairs, and four states to move through: the picks, the wait, the reveal and the verdict. Score has to survive a reload, every round has to be playable by keyboard and announced to a screen reader, and it holds 100 across Lighthouse.
